Membership
New Members
A guest can be invited by any member of the WCBNA in good standing. However, before the guest can be invited, the name and type of business must be submitted to the group the meeting prior to assure that there is no conflict with current members.
Guests are allowed to no more than two meetings before they are required to join, if they wish. They can complete an application at any time. The active members will review the application and decide if they wish to grant membership. The guest will be notified by the sponsoring member or chairperson of the decision. If approved, they will be told the fee as determined by the time of year they apply and required to pay it in full at their first official meeting.
After their membership is activated, they will be added to the WCBNA website and all future marketing activities.
Referrals
Referrals are strongly encouraged and several methods count as making a referral, including, but not limited to:
1) Distributing general WCBNA brochures at member place of business
2) Passing out member business cards
3) Referring a potential customer to a member
4) Representing WCBNA at an event
5) Each new member a member brings to a meeting and joins WCBNA
Referrals will be announced at each meeting and the number will be posted on the website each month.
Fees
Each member is required to pay $50 per year at the beginning of the calendar year. A monthly marketing fee of $10 is to be collected by the treasurer at the first meeting of the month.
All fees are to be reinvested within the group to market the group as a whole to enhance networking for all group members. New marketing ideas or projects that require funds from the group account must be voted on by the members present at the time the decision needs to be made. A majority of the present members is required for approval of the project.
Absence
An absence is classified as not showing up, whether or not the group has been notified prior to the absence (except for emergencies). Sending a representative in a members place is not counted as an absence.
All absences are tracked by the secretary and reported during the meeting. After four non-emergency absences, membership in the group will be reviewed and possibly, revoked, without return of any fees already paid.
